About Nadia

Nadia Poe

I’m a landscape watercolour artist based in London. I moved to the UK from Ukraine in 2022 and I discovered a new world of subjects for my brush. Parks, forests, hills, lakes and rivers: the natural world in its purest form, untouched by human intervention, is what you’ll find in my paintings most often.

Background

I developed an interest in art from an early age, graduating from art school before going on to study graphic design at university in Ukraine. Though trained in digital tools, I was always drawn more to the physical act of painting — mixing colours on the palette, feeling the paint settle against the paper’s surface. After exploring various mediums, I found my home in watercolour, drawn to its fluidity, airiness, and the speed with which you can work.

Practice

As an artist I never stop learning — always pushing my vision, my palette, my technique. I used to teach painting and drawing, but now my focus is on my own work. In warmer months I paint plein air; in winter I work from the studio, drawing on my own photography and other references.
